I have never been more upset with a fandom than I am right now. Shipping wars are stupid and ugly, character hate is absolutely nonsensical, but HATING an ACTOR because you think their character is getting too much screen time?? What the fuck are you even thinking??? And saying that you’d find it amusing to set a REAL HUMAN BEING. WITH A WIFE AND CHILD. ON FIRE. is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING in ways I can’t even begin to describe.

Look, I don’t care if you don’t like Castiel- I really don’t. Purely from a writer’s perspective and not getting into my personal opinions, I think he’s a vital character to both plot and character development BUT IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME, THAT’S OK! THAT’S THE GREAT THING ABOUT OPINIONS- YOU CAN HAVE THEM AND ITS A-OK! I will still respect you and talk with you and WHATEVER. But to say that Misha Collins deserves to die or be fired or that you hate him (HATE HIM??? YOU’VE NEVER MET HIM! Those are some passionate feelings for someone you’ve never even laid eyes on, don’t you think??) is SO RIDICULOUS!

Ok, stupidity aside, if you want to continue to hate Misha Collins, that’s fine…well, not really, but whatever, it’s your life- if you want to dedicate that huge amount of energy to disliking a fucking actor, go at it, be my guest. BUT YOU DO. NOT. GO. AND. SPREAD. THAT. HATE. ESPECIALLY IN SUCH A PUBLIC WAY THAT HE WILL MOST CERTAINLY SEE IT. This whole “I Hate Misha Collins Day” and the associated twitter is SO FUCKING DUMB not to mention INDESCRIBABLY RUDE AND HURTFUL. How would you feel if there was a whole website dedicated to just mindlessly hating on you? ESPECIALLY when you’ve dedicated your life to spreading kindness and happiness to people less fortunate than yourself???

Which gets me to my next point- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HATING ON THIS MAN? IF I COULD PICK ONE ACTOR TO INVEST THE ENERGY INTO HATING, HE WOULD BE THE LAST ONE I PICK. HE STARTED A FUCKING CHARITY- WHO EVEN DOES THAT?? He actively raises money for and travels to other countries to help those in need and it’s not just like “oh he started a charity great for him- its just something that has his name on it”- he continually does events to raise more money and help more people. So good on you, you’re definitely helping out our world by hating a person who does so much for others. Aren’t you proud of yourself??

So ok, even if you couldn’t be assed to care about the great things he’s done for this world, you’ve got to at least acknowledge how stupid this whole “I Hate Misha Collins” campaign is. What is it going to do?? No really, tell me?? I’m genuinely curious. You claim it will hopefully get him fired from the CW? Ok…wait what? Again, if its his CHARACTER (oopsie, are we having a little trouble separating fiction from reality again? AN ACTOR IS NOT HIS/HER CHARACTER) you dislike, go ahead and write letters about CASTIEL. For one, it’s not going to change anything, because I’m pretty sure the writers aren’t writing out of their asses and actually have plans for him and how he will effect the plot and other character’s development. But two, then you’re actually at least being honest about what it is that you dislike. You cannot hate an actor simply for the role he plays- is PAYED to play- one that OTHER PEOPLE created for him. And you especially cannot possibly think its ok to threaten physical harm to a human for this very reason.

Spreading hate is never cool. Whether or not a person deserves it (which, I think I’ve made my point on my feelings about this particular case above), its never ok to start groups on hating another human. We’re supposed to love and support people that we’ve never met- all religions tell us so and if you’re not religious; common sense and humanity tells us so. I honestly don’t know how to make it more simple than that. I’m trying to expand on that, but it’s basically as simple as it gets- hate is always disgusting and never the right answer.

So go ahead and tell me what part of all this is ok? And what this lovely human being has done other than what he was paid to do that deserves to be dehumanized in such a way? Go on, tell me.

And fandom, let’s please do our best to get these asshats off the internet before tomorrow. It’s just not even a thing that I ever want to be associated with and the fact that this is from the Supernatural fandom, which is supposed to be the epitome of familial love, is absolutely ridiculous.
